So, I have to ask this question of River Spirit. At the chinese counter they used to serve a half way decent hot and sour soup (very underspiced of course) - I cannot remember the last time I saw that there. The soups used to be something worth looking forward to. A month or two later they pretty much abandoned the entire international theme and now that counter serves bland 'mexican' (think Taco Bell on a bad day) or bad gumbo.

We went back later in the month expecting more Indian food only to find they had quit the Indian theme. One month the theme was Indian and it was actually pretty good - a little underspiced, but what can you expect. A couple of years ago they actually tried to have a monthly international theme at the international counter. The same story applies to the buffet on other days (Visions does somewhat vary the theme for the dinner buffet by day of the week - less so the lunch buffet). As for oysters, particularly the raw oysters (as the cooked oysters are overcooked and tasteless), quality control has gone downhill and good luck waiting for the oysters to be replenished. It would be nice if they could just once offer up an alternative to their very indifferent clam chowder - gloppy clam chowder is NOT the only seafood soup out there. Then they reduced the variety of fish to the point where now almost all the dishes are some indifferent type of shrimp (typically overcooked and unseasoned to ensure total blandness). First they decided to make crab legs a pricey add-on to the buffet. The Thursday seafood buffet used to be something to look forward to - an interesting variety of fish. It used to be pretty good by casino buffet standards.

The River Spirit (Visions) Buffet has been steadily declining in quality for a couple of years now.
